This Peruvian beef skewers recipe packs a ton of flavor and is great for a simple summer barbecue!

Inspired by the flavors of lomo saltado, these anticuchos, or Peruvian beef skewers, draw on flavors core to Chifa cuisine. This blend of Peruvian and Chinese flavors has developed over centuries, and dates back to Chinese immigrants making their way to Peru in the late 1800s.

Drawing on flavors like Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce and Premium Soy Sauce, these skewers are deep in umami flavor and great with a side of yellow rice, or Arroz Amarillo. A drizzle of Lee Kum Kee Cilantro Lime Sriracha also makes for a tasty garnish.

How to make it

  1. In a bowl, combine beef, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and red onion. Add Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce, vinegar, cumin, black pepper, and oil. Toss to coat and marinate for at least 10 minutes.

  2. Thread the marinated beef and vegetables onto skewers, alternating pieces (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for at least 30 minutes beforehand.)

  3. Grill or cook on a grill pan over medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred and cooked to desired doneness.

  4. Warm the yellow rice and divide onto plates.
