A simple char siu chicken recipe combines with the iconic chicken bake recipe for an unbelievable fusion. Ingredients like chicken, char siu marinade, pizza dough, and cheese combine together harmoniously.

A unique blend of sweet, savory, and cheesy, the core of this recipe lies in the char siu marinade. Using Lee Kum Kee Panda Oyster Sauce and Hoisin Sauce is a quick way to build the flavor base. Adding honey and five spice helps to round out the sweetness and aroma. These flavors work great with cheese and green onion, and in this chicken bake recipe, they make for a tasty and simple fusion you can make time and time again!

Pro tip: Add a drizzle of Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chow Chili Crisp Oil for a little extra kick of heat!

How to make it

  1. In a bowl, whisk together Lee Kum Kee Hoisin SaucePanda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce, Premium Soy Sauce, Seasoned Rice VinegarMinced Garlic, Minced Gingerfive spice powder, and honey. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the marinade. Let sit for at least 20 minutes (or overnight).
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Heat oil in an ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear 2–3 minutes per side. Pour in remaining marinade with a splash of water, then transfer to the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through. Cool slightly, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Raise oven heat to 400°F. Divide pizza dough into 3 equal portions. On a floured surface, roll each portion into a 12-inch oval. Sprinkle each with a bit of mozzarella, provolone, then top evenly with chopped char siu chicken and green onions.
  4. Fold the sides of the dough over slightly, then roll up from the bottom edge to form a log. Pinch the seams to seal and place seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Brush the tops of the rolls with beaten egg. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake at 400°F for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp on the outside. Cool slightly, then slice in half, drizzle with Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chow Style Chili Crisp Oil and serve.
