Even something as simple as this cabbage stir fry recipe plays a significant role in any Lunar New Year feast. As cabbage is one of the key symbols of wealth and prosperity to eat during Lunar New Year, it's commonly found on the table in dishes like egg rolls, or even stir fried on its own for a quick veggie side.

 


When making this cabbage stir fry recipe, a leafy green cabbage like Napa cabbage is the ideal choice. Regardless of which you choose, you can maximize the flavor by using Lee Kum Kee Pure Sesame Oil and Premium Soy Sauce to add fragrance to the entire dish!

How to make it

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of neutral cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic and Lee Kum Kee Minced Ginger and stir fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  2. Add the julienned carrots to the wok and stir fry for 2-3 minutes, until they begin to soften.
  3. Toss the shredded cabbage into the wok. Stir fry for 4-5 minutes, tossing occasionally, until the cabbage wilts and becomes tender. If it begins to stick, add a splash of water and stir to loosen.
  4. Add the Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce, Seasoned Rice Vinegar, sugar, and remaining tablespoon of  Lee Kum Kee Pure Sesame Oil. Stir to combine and cook for another minute. Add the green onion. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

  5. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with more green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
