Enjoy double the comfort by serving melty mac and cheese gnocchi in a garlic bread bowl. With premade gnocchi and bread, the time and effort you’ll need to prepare this dish will be minimal.

Why We Love It

Mac and cheese—made with gnocchi or more traditional pasta like macaroni, spirals, or penne—is one of America’s ultimate comfort foods. There’s something about the combination of cheese and carbs that just soothes the soul.

This version adds the luxury of a garlic bread bowl and a hit of heat from the addition of sriracha mayo to the garlic butter mixture. What’s not to love?

How to make it

  1. In a bowl, combine the Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic, Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo, butter, basil, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.

  2. Garlic Bread Bowl: Preheat the oven to 400°F. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut the top off the round loaf of bread. Hollow out the center, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges and bottom to create a bowl. Generously coat the inside and top of the bread with the prepared garlic butter mixture. Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the bread is crispy and golden. Set aside.
  3. Mac and Cheese Gnocchi: In a pan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the all-purpose flour and stir until the flour is fully coated, about 1 minute. Pour in the whole milk and continue stirring for 3-4 minutes until the mixture slightly thickens. Reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir until well combined. Add the cooked gnocchi to the cheese sauce, gently coating the gnocchi with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency.
  4. Carefully fill the prepared garlic bread bowl with your mac and cheese gnocchi. Enjoy immediately!
