Give breakfast an Asian twist with this Hotteok recipe infused with bacon and Honey Sriracha!
Hotteok is typically a Korean sweet treat infused with sugar and nuts inside. This version from one of our Lee Kum Kee chefs comes stuffed with classic American breakfast flavors instead. Smoky bacon and melty cheese add layers of flavor and texture to the inside. Meanwhile, Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha makes for the perfect sauce for drizzling or dipping, adding a sweet and spicy burst of flavor to the hotteok. Give them a try!
In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, SAF instant yeast, warm milk, and sugar. Stir well and let bloom for 5 minutes. Add melted butter, neutral oil, Lee Kum Kee Pure Sesame Oil, glutinous rice flour, salt, bread flour, and baking powder. Mix and knead for about 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and gluten begins to develop.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm area for 45 to 75 minutes, until it has doubled in size. For easier shaping, refrigerate the dough for 1 hour to firm it up (optional but recommended).

Heat a pan over medium to medium-high heat with a light coating of oil. Place each sealed dough ball seam-side down and press gently with a spatula until it’s about 1½ inches thick. Cook until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted inside, about 3–4 minutes per side.
Drizzle with Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha or serve on the side for dipping.
