Ring in the Year of the Horse with this Air Fryer Firecracker Shrimp Recipe, packing flavor with Honey Sriracha and Oyster Sauce!

 

In the new year tradition, eating shrimp represents happiness, good fortune, and joy. This style of Firecracker Shrimp is especially popular because the tails sticking out of the wrappers make these bites look like tiny firecrackers! 

 

This version also packs a ton of flavor thanks to the umami-packed marinade of Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce and Premium Soy Sauce. Air fried until golden for an easy new year appetizer, these are perfect with a side of sweet and spicy Honey Sriracha Sauce for dipping!

How to make it

  1. Pat the shrimp dry, then make several shallow cuts along the inside curve of each shrimp to help them straighten. Add the shrimp to a bowl with the Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Pure Sesame Oil, and 1 tsp. Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha Sauce. Marinate for 15–20 minutes.

  2. Lay one wonton wrapper on the counter. If using jumbo shrimp, overlap a second wrapper by 1 inch to create a longer strip. Place a shrimp on the wrapper with the tail sticking out past the top edge. Roll once, fold the side corner over the shrimp, then continue rolling to seal. Dab the edge with water if needed.
  3. Arrange the wrapped shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with neutral oil. Air fry at 350°F for 8–10 minutes, or until the wrappers are golden and crisp and the shrimp are cooked through.
  4. Serve immediately with Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha Sauce for dipping.
