A tasty and easy air fryer recipe for a simple weeknight dinner, this chicken thighs recipe is simple to make but delivers big and bold flavors!

This recipe is a classic in Bang-Co (Connie) Aboubakare's household. On Instagram as OCComestibles, she grew up using Lee Kum Kee sauces in her kitchen as a way to add the umami and flavor to her favorite recipes that her parents used. Connie has applied the same technique and approach in her cooking, with a combination of Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce and Premium Soy Sauce serving as the flavor base for this chicken thighs recipe.

Using an air fryer to get a crispy outside while the inside remains juicy, this simple recipe is great with steamed rice and veggies on the side, like kimchi or cucumbers!

How to make it

  1.  In a large bowl, whisk together the Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Pure Sesame Oil, vegetable oil, black pepper, and sugar. Stir in the Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic and chopped shallots. Add the chicken thighs and toss until evenly coated, making sure the marinade gets into the slits. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for even more flavor.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken thighs from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off. If needed, gently brush off any large pieces of shallot from the skin to prevent burning. Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, skin-side down, leaving a little space between each piece.
  4. Air fry for 12 minutes. Flip the chicken skin-side up and continue air frying for 10 to 13 minutes, or until the skin is golden brown and crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part near the bone.
  5. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with steamed jasmine rice, kimchi, and sliced cucumbers.
