Gameday gets a flavor-packed boost with this chicken wing recipe inspired by satay! The wings are coated in a savory and spicy peanut sauce.

Savory, sweet, and packed with deep flavors, satay sauce is most commonly associated with pork skewers in countries like Thailand and Indonesia. In the United States, it's become popular on chicken as well, making it a great choice to use as a sauce for crispy and juicy chicken wings.

To give it spicy, sweet, and umami flavors, a blend of Lee Kum Kee Chili Garlic Sauce and Hoisin Sauce pairs with ingredients like curry paste and peanut butter. Finished with a drizzle of Chiu Chow Style Chili Crisp Oil, these wings have a blend of texture, heat, and complex flavor that will make them the talk of your gameday party!

How to make it

  1. Add the chicken wings to a bowl and toss with baking powder, neutral oil, coconut milk, Lee Kum Kee Chili Garlic Sauce, and curry powder until evenly coated. Arrange the wings on a baking sheet and refrigerate uncovered for at least 4 hours or up to 24 hours.
  2. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Bake the wings for 30 minutes, flip, and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until deeply golden and crisp.
  3. While the wings bake, heat neutral oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add red Thai curry paste and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring, until fragrant.
  4. Whisk in peanut butter, coconut milk, fish sauce, honey, and Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce until smooth, adding warm water as needed to create a thick, glossy sauce. Remove from heat.
  5. Transfer the hot wings to a large bowl, pour the warm peanut satay sauce over the wings, and toss until fully coated. Finish with sliced green onions and a light drizzle of Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chow Style Chili Crisp Oil before serving.
