Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce makes for the perfect addition to barbecue sauce. Its sweet and savory flavors add a rich and earthy depth of flavor to the barbecue sauce. Combined with ketchup, mustard, and the sweet heat of Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha Sauce, and you've got an easy all-in-one barbecue sauce that pairs perfectly with pork and other smoked meats!

This recipe shows off two ways to make pulled pork. If you have a smoker, you can use the smoker method, but there's also a way to make pulled pork in a Dutch oven that's just as tasty and tender!

How to make it

  1. Pat the pork dry and rub with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

  2. Cook the Pork using one of the two below methods, based on what is accessible to you:

    • Slow Cooker Method: Place pork in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until very tender.
    • Oven Method: Preheat to 325°F. Heat oil in a Dutch oven or oven-safe pot and sear pork on all sides until browned. Add 1/2 cup water, cover, and roast for 2 hours, or until fork-tender.
  3. While pork cooks, combine Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Panda Oyster Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Honey Sriracha Sauce, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, and mustard in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring often, until glossy and slightly thickened.
  4. Transfer the cooked pork to a large bowl. Shred with two forks. Pour in the hoisin BBQ sauce and toss until fully coated, reserving some of the sauce for serving.
  5. Spoon sauced pork onto toasted buns. Top with coleslaw and pickled onions or jalapeños. Serve warm with extra sauce on the side.
