How to make it

  2. To prepare the king oyster mushrooms, cut the mushrooms into thick slices horizontally, about 2” thick. Then score them by slicing diagonal lines, then cross hatching them in the opposite direction. Do this cross hatching on both sides of mushroom.
  3. Combine the Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic, vegetable broth, and sesame oil in a large bowl. Place the sliced and scored mushrooms into the bowl and allow to marinate for about 20 minutes. Tossing the mushrooms in marinade occasionally to make sure they are evenly coated.
  4. Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil to the pan, then add 2-4 pieces of mushroom in the pan. Be careful, the mushrooms may sputter a bit when they hit the pan. Check them after a minute or two. Once they have a nice, deep color, flip and allow to sear on the other side.
  5. While mushrooms are cooking, make dipping sauce. In a small bowl, combine Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce, Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic, Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Dipping Soy Sauce, lime juice and water. Mix and set aside.
  6. Once mushrooms have a deep color on both slides, place on a serving platter and garnish with scallions. Top with white and black sesame seeds. Serve with dipping sauce and enjoy!
