We were inspired by @geniuseatss on TikTok to make our own version, adding the heat from Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chow Style Chili Crisp Oil to give this dish a punch of umami and heat.

This is a tasty and simple meal to add to your dinner repertoire, just don't forget to add extra chili crisp oil on top if you want a little more spice.

How to make it

  1. Heat a large high-sided pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil and butter in a pan. Once butter is melted, add the thinly sliced onions and cook over medium-low heat for 30 minutes. Stir often until caramelized. Set aside.
  2. Cook the pasta until al dente and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  3. In the same pan, add the Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chow Style Chili Crisp Oil, Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic, and shrimp. Saute until the shrimp is mostly cooked (2-3 minutes). Add in heavy cream followed by the caramelized onions; stir to combine.
  4. Add in the pasta, parmesan cheese and ½ cup of pasta water (adjust the consistency of the sauce to your liking). Stir to combine. Serve with more parmesan cheese, chopped parsley and Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chow Style Chili Crisp Oil. Enjoy!
