Andy Kao
Director of Food and Beverage
Starting in the kitchen of the
Pasadena Panda Inn in 1984, Andy Kao gained a hands-on education that has
helped him to be a successful and important entity of the Panda family.
As a director of food and beverage, Kao is responsible for new product
development and quality control. With 26 years of experience in the
restaurant industry, Kao has been instrumental int he evolution of Panda
Express' menu items including the tantalizing Orange Flavored Chicken.
His familiarity with the preparation of Chinese food continues to be invaluable
in the development of new products and maintenance of current recipes.
Kao strives to provide delicious upscale products and entrees hot, fresh and
fast in order to exceed guest expectations.

What is your background in the culinary
profession? |

| A: |
In 1981, I brought my family and cooking
knowledge to the United States. From 1981-1984, I worked in various
restaurants where I had many chances to practice and refine the art of Human
Cuisine as well as develop my skills in Cantonese and Shanghai Style cooking. |

What makes the Panda Express dishes so
popular and well-liked by the American consumers who are of diverse cultural
background? |

Our strong culinary background in Asian flavors and cooking combined with 33
years of experience since we opened our first restaurant, Panda Inn, provide us
the direction to create entrees using fresh produce and meat selections, Asian
herbs and spices and sauces. The dishes served at our Panada express
restaurants have bold and interesting flavors that satisfy the cravings of our
guests of all backgrounds.
