|

|
Massachusetts (April 9, 2008) Mr. Lee Man Tat, Group Chairman of
Lee Kum Kee, has been inducted into Babson College’s Academy of
Distinguished Entrepreneurs (ADE). Lee Kum Kee is a leading Chinese sauce and
condiment brand that produces and distributes a wide range of food products to
more than 100 countries and regions around the world. Lee Kum Kee is the first
Chinese business to receive this award.
|
|
| The ADE was established in 1978 by Babson College
(www.babson.edu). Since its inception, the academy has recognized and honored
many of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world. Inductees are chosen
not only for outstanding business accomplishments in their fields, but also for
their contributions to society. Academy members represent companies that are
highly regarded in their industry and household icons in their culture. They
have capitalized on the need for change, accepted the associated risk and
responsibility, and made an impact on the world. The energy and innovation
embodied by these individuals will be realized and applauded for many
generations to come. |

Speaking at the induction ceremony, Mr. Lee said, “I am honored and
thrilled to be bestowed the ADE award by Babson College. My
grandfather invented oyster sauce and my father ventured the business overseas.
After taking over the chairmanship in 1972, I started to diversify, popularize
and internationalize our products. My business philosophy is that “We should
always be ready to change to cope with the changing world." |
|
| “We have just celebrated the 120th anniversary of the
founding of Lee Kum Kee. Through embracing the core values of pragmatism,
integrity and constant entrepreneurship as well as considering other’s interest
in handling our everyday affairs, we have sustained the business for well over
a century. The award of this honor is an endorsement that we have been on the
right course. This is most encouraging to me and to everyone in the company."
|
|
| Mr. Lee added, “Our vision is to turn our family business
into the model of ethnic Chinese enterprise. Our missions are “to promote
Chinese cuisines worldwide” and “to promote Chinese herbal health products to
people around the world."
